What if the hurricane was Hurricane Ditka?

Here's my first finished painting on my new Wacom Cintiq.  It was meant to be!  Anyway - I've been wanting to paint Coach Ditka for a while, his face just cracks me up every time I see him.

John Elway

Experimenting with painting directly over a "full value" colored pencil monochrome sketch, without an intermediate grayscale value step. Took some extra blurring, but I think it came out pretty well! Good luck in the next season, Mr. VP.

The Way

Shield your eyes from the magnificent dental monoliths! Bow before the shining glorious teeth!
Also... welcome back to the team, Number Seven. Good to have you back.

Kobe-Wan Kenobi

Been struggling with adding some sports figures to my portfolio, I thought this would be a pretty unique and recognizable face. This is the second attempt at a sketch, it's amazing sometimes how much you learn in re-drawing something.

(okay, okay.. I'll show the original, even though it bugs the hell out of me)
